“NC Women Seeking Concerned Citizens”: How YOU Can Shape Civic Issues in Orange October 21, 2010


The Women’s Center and NC Women United, will be sponsoring a public forum on Oct. 28 to discuss civic issues in Orange County, and solicit input from the community.


On Thursday, October 28th, FVPC and The Women’s Center, in partnership with NC Women United, are inviting all concerned citizens and Orange County residents to attend the Women’s Agenda Assembly to discuss civic issues in Orange County.  Attendees with have the opportunity to meet and discuss their concerns, as well as voice their opinions in order to affect real social change.

Agenda topics will include:

  • Affordable Childcare Voter Owned Elections;
  • LGBT Employment Discrimination;
  • Mental Health;
  • Immigration Issues;
  • Domestic Violence

The Assembly will be held on Thursday October 28th from 5:30-8:30 PM at New Hope Camp off Highway 86 between Hillsborough and Chapel Hill.  Individuals interested in attending are encouraged to register ahead of time, at, or call the Women’s Center directly at 919-968-4610.  Interested parties can also visit for more details and a copy of the 2010 Agenda.
