One-Act Musical Addresses Female Bullying May 25, 2010

You’ve read the headlines about it in recent newspapers, you’ve seen specials about it on TV nightly news broadcasts, and perhaps you’ve talked about it with your own family. Bullying, both male and female, has reached epidemic proportions in America’s schools and it can no longer be ignored.

A one-act musical, One False Move, will be performed by local middle and high school students,  and will explore the rough and sometimes violent side of bullying and peer pressure on campuses where many at one time would have been surprised to find it: not among the boys, but among the girls.

All shows take place in the Elizabeth Kenan Theatre in the UNC Center for Dramatic Art, Friday, June 4 and Sat., June 5, at 7:30 PM and a Sunday Matinee, June 6, at 3:30 PM. Counselors from the Family Violence Prevention Center will lead a discussion after each performance.

You can get tickets by phone at 1-800-838-3006, or online.  For group discounts of ten or more, call 919-968-9595. More information and directions are here.
