Clients often come to FVPC with multiple, varied needs. At our weekly case conferencing meeting, the all-too-frequent subject of discussion is how we can serve as many of those needs as possible…with minimal funds. It’s a daily conundrum. But you’ve heard the saying, “it never hurts to ask,” so FVPC advocates often turn to the community at large for help in filling some of the unmet needs. Local organizations like the Chapel Hill Service League and our next door neighbors the UNC-CH chapter of Alpha Chi Omega, for example, are great resources. They do things like collect cell phones and food stuffs for our pantry in addition to help with special events like our annual auction. We are so grateful for their continued help.
Another need has arisen recently and this blog seems the perfect place to ask for help! We have 2 clients who are in need of diapers (size 1 & 2), bottles and wipes for their babies. While we receive occasional donations of diapers, wipes and bottles, the need far out reaches our current reserves. Can you help? Call the office to arrange for their drop-off or ask for help with a pick-up. Thanks!!!
